Allyship and Empowering Women in Tech: A Conversation with Nancy Naluz

The summer before I started university, I began working in communications at Girls Action Foundation, a Canadian nonprofit leading girls and young women’s empowerment programs. I was there for three years and loved the work I did. In between journalism classes, I managed a blogging network called, a platform for girls and young women to dive into topics like feminism, intersectionality, marginalization, and body politics.

I check in on once in a while and always contribute to their annual Blogging Carnival. I ran the 2011 through 2013 editions, which feels like ages ago!

Since my career switch into tech, I decided to publish a piece focused on women in tech. I interviewed Nancy Naluz from Ladies Learning Code (LLC). LLC is a women-run, not-for-profit organization that offers workshops for women (and men) to learn programming and other technical skills in a social and collaborative environment.
